I visited Barbados in May 1994.
This island is by far the best place I have ever visited. It is
beautiful and relaxing, yet there is still plenty of wild
nightlife to balance things out nicely. Everything about this
place is absolutely brilliant, the beaches are immaculate with
pure white sand that doesn't burn your feet when it's a scorching
hot day. The locals are friendly and speak with that cool
Caribbean accent. The cars drive on the LEFT side of the road so
you won't get knocked down (if you're from England that is!) The
island is only 21 miles long so it is very easy to visit anywhere
in a short time and there is so much to see!
The only downside about Barbados is the cost. It is by far the
most expensive of the Caribbean islands to visit, yet for the
quality you get I suppose you expect to pay more. Eating and
drinking out is a little pricy, yet the food is quite superb.
Same with the accomodation, first class yet you pay more for it.
I would go to Barbados every year if I could afford it (which I
can't), but I will do my best to get there as often as is humanly
possible!
