BARBADOS 2000
HARBOUR LIGHTS
Harbour Lights was the main place we went at night apart from the Ship Inn. It's an open air nightclub where the dancefloor is sand and the drinks are free for a small cover charge. No wonder we went there so often. The following pictures show many of the antics that went on there. Shots to take note of are the picture of Anne with about 10 bottles of rum that we dug out of the sand on the Beach Party night. We knew they hid them there as we'd been before and not many others knew so we nicked most of them before anyone else realised! And it wasn't the only time we did this either! In addition to this Liz and I won a "dirty dancing" competition which I volunteered us for (me volunteer??? they should stop those free drinks!) and all this was on our final week when the main crowd had gone home. We did our best to stoke up a party atmosphere with the other party goers by dancing on the tables and getting very drunk but they were a pretty lifeless bunch so we did it anyway and had our own party! Thankfully the first two weeks were nothing like this with the large party gang of ours creating a really wild atmosphere whenever we went here as I'm sure you can see from the variety of drunken japes going on in the pictures below. In fact the wildest night we had of the whole holiday was the first time we went. As it was our first real booze up we got amazingly drunk and ended up diving about on the sand doing cartwheels and somersaults and ended up having a booze fight between ourselves! Don't know how we actually managed to remember all that though! Great spot and we can't wait to go back there.
Almost forgot to mention....Harbour Lights is the place where I proposed to Liz in 1998 during our previous visit to Barbados so it holds special memories for that reason alone.
